2025 Event info
Event day is almost here and I don't want to jinx it but it looks like the weather gods are in our favor this year! We thank you for joining us for year two of BTD. This year we are moving into the center of town and trying out an alternate venue while blending with the event being held in the community the same day. See info below for the Friday shakeout ride (free) and all event information.

This year Wild Elk Gravel and PEC will be hosting a shakeout ride Friday afternoon that will be starting at the trailhead parking area. The ride will start at 5PM. Here is your route for the shakeout ride: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51970734

Location: West Creek Recreational Trail Trailhead, 98 E 3rd St, Emporium PA 15834

Registration: Registration will open at 6:30 AM at the trailhead. It will be located under the blue canopy near the beginning of the trail parking area. Registration for each distance will close 15 min before the start of that distance.

Routes: Please download the current routes: https://ridewithgps.com/collections/3615093
These routes were approved 08/01/2025 and are the official routes this year. If you downloaded them any earlier than 08/04 please make sure you have the correct route from the above link downloaded and loaded to your GPS

We urge you to make sure you have your route downloaded for GPS use. Although we mark the course very well there is always the possibility of someone being a jerk and stealing signs or turning them a different direction. The area has very little cell service on the mountain and it's unlikely you'll have more than 1 bar of service on the top of it.
Main Aid Station: Food (Fruit Snacks, M&Ms, Rice Crispy Treats,Granola bars,Banannas, etc), Water, Liquid Nutrition (Tailwind), first aid kit, and pump. Porta Potty on site.
29 mile course - mile 13
56 mile course - mile 13 and 40
90 mile course - mile 32,59 and 74

Parking: Parking is available along East 3rd St and the Grass area within the Trailhead. See Map below.

Camping: Tent camping is permitted Friday - Sunday in the grass area within the trailhead. See map below.

Emergency: If you have an emergency contact 911.

Non-Emergency: We get it. Things happen. Mechanicals happen. If you are in a position where you are unable to continue and need removed from the course please make an attempt to get to the nearest aid station and we can help get you removed from the course as it becomes available. If you cant make it to an aid station please call 814-512-1375. We will get information relayed to the driver. Please let them know what event distance you're riding and the approximate mileage you made it to and any other info relevant to your location.
Food: Post ride food will be available from “Smitty's Eat N Shack Food Truck” and “Uptown Girls Grille Restaurant”(51 East 4th St.). They will be 1 block away from the finish line in the center of town and have to go order options. Please present your meal ticket in your event bag to receive your free meal. The meal ticket has a $10.00 value at each vendor. Additional options are available for purchase from each vendor. There will be water, Coke, and Sprite in coolers next to the registration area after the finish. There will be adult beverages offered from “Straub Brewery”.
